Martin County 2026: The Money Behind the Commission Races
Every itemized contribution and expenditure for the six qualified candidates in the two contested Board of County Commissioners races — District 2 (open seat) and District 4. All six are Republicans; both races will effectively be decided in the August 18 primary. Data here is from the county's electronic filing system, so it's cleaner than the city's handwritten scans.

Who's behind the money
District 2 = three different theories of a campaign. Collins pairs a $10,000 self-loan with 20+ max checks from Hobe Sound / Jupiter Island retirees. O'Rourke is 81% self-funded and only started raising outside money in late June — but her first outside checks are familiar city names: Tom Campenni ($1,000, also gave Clarke $500), Knight & Ann Kiplinger ($2,000, also gave Matheson $2,000), Ryan Strom + 611 PBR LLC + Ralph Parks ($1,500, the same Strom/611 network that gave to Rich, Clarke, and Matheson). Wiley has no self-funding at all — 51 small checks, the most grassroots filing in either report.
District 4 is incumbent-vs-money. Sarah Heard (the longtime incumbent) has the biggest outside-donor haul in the county — ~$29,600 from individuals including land-use attorney Virginia Sherlock, 25+ max donors, and slow-growth stalwarts. Dial answers with $85,000 of his own money and a hired-gun operation. Kazanjian (PBA union president) is funded entirely by six $1,000 checks from police PACs (Palm Beach County PBA ×2, Florida PBA ×2, Dade County PBA, and a Doral committee).
City ↔ county crossover donors: the Kiplingers (Matheson + O'Rourke), Campenni (Clarke + O'Rourke), Strom/611 (Rich + Clarke + Matheson + O'Rourke), Linda Grand (Clarke $100 + Heard $1,000), Stephen Leighton (Heard; the Leighton family entities back Rich and Clarke), Ann Potts (Rich + Wiley), Margaret Broomfield (Clarke + Wiley), Dorothy Weir (Wiley $1,000 — a "Darcy Weir" at 216 SE Hibiscus gave Clarke $1,000 and a "Dorothy Weil" at the same address gave Rich $1,000; likely the same household, possibly the same person spelled three ways).
Vendor crossover: Elgin's Designer Trim did Ogden's truck wrap and Collins's signs; Multicolor Printing prints for Collins, Ogden, and Laughlin; Impact Design works for both Laughlin and Dial; Dial paid "Florida Local" $1,600 for ads while Micciche pays "Stuart Local" — worth checking if related.

Christopher "Doc" Collins is the sitting Stuart Vice-Mayor running for this county seat — and a donor named "Chris Collins" gave $500 to Will Laughlin, who is challenging Mayor Rich for Collins's colleague's seat. Same-name coincidence or the Vice-Mayor funding a city ally: not verifiable from the filings.
Gerald (Casey) Cass qualified for District 2, then withdrew — his $6,000 (all self-loan) was repaid and he is excluded above.
